The Party You Missed

Allsouth
On August 4, 2009, Alagasco and AllSouth Appliances joined forces to host an Iron Chef competition against Alagasco’s Chef Clayton Sherrod and Wolf Sub-Zero’s Chef George Laudun from Atlanta . Over 150 builders, developers, Realtors and designers attend this event held at AllSouth’s fabulous showroom in Homewood . Robert Scott with ReMax was the MC for this event and the judges for this cook off were Fox 6’s Rick Journey, Signature Home’s Sandy Sandlin and The Fish Market’s George Sarris. The chefs were presented with a basket of over 20 items and they had 1&1/2 hours to prepare their three masterpieces and present these to the judges. After much tasting and deliberation, it ended in a tie. According to the judges, all of the food was delicious and the presentations were out of this world!

My Scoop at Saks
My Scoop, www.myscoop.us, and Saks Fifth Avenue partnered again to showcase the latest trends and must-haves for the fall season. The Want It! Party,a kickoff event to Summit Fashion Weekend,drew more than 150 My Scoop readers and subscribers. Guests were treated to a delicious treats provided by Ashley Macs and My Scoop Scoopette Card Holders received a gift bag as they exited the event courtesy of Saks Fifth Avenue and My Scoop.

YP Party at Vulcan
The Young Professionals of Birmingham recently held its networking event, “There’s No Place Like ’Ham,” benefitting Mitchell’s Place, a treatment center for young people with autism and Vulcan Park & Museum.

Grease After Party
In September a party was held at Rogue Tavern to celebrate the return of Taylor Hicks to Birmingham in the cast of the touring Broadway musical Grease.
