Compelling Portraits of Interesting People

Marketing Integration Specialist/Dancer

Currently in the final draft stages of her comedy memoir entitled, “Two Drink Minimum.”

Words I live by: “Life is to be lived. If you have to support yourself, you had bloody well better find some way that is going to be interesting. And you don’t do that by sitting around wondering about yourself.” —Katharine Hepburn

Who most inspires you? My sister Stacy because of her ability to work, raise a family and generally overcome any of life’s obstacles with dignity and grace.

If I could be totally wild, I would, “Join a traveling Burlesque troupe!”

The most important thing I ever lost: My younger sister Brittany to ovarian cancer.

The best thing I ever won: A flat-screen TV and $1,000 on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” because I lived in, what she determined to be, one of the “tiniest apartments” in NYC’s East Village. My friends and I affectionately refer to this apartment as the “Hobbit Cottage.”

I still can’t get the hang of: Cooking. I’m a domestic train wreck.

The world would be a better place, if only: Education was a part of everyone’s lives and the mentally ill were treated instead of discarded.

I’d like to learn how to: Play poker competitively!

Always... dance if only in your heart.
Never... forget your self-worth.
I wish… I had more time.

As a contributing photographer for B-Metro, Angela shoots on assignment and produces special features. Angela is also an ovarian cancer awareness advocate and host of the annual “A Picture of Health” event to benefit ovarian cancer research at UAB Hospital. She resides in Birmingham with her dog Miss Wiggles and she enjoys traveling at any given chance to gain inspiration. Visit www.AngelaKaren.com.www.angelakaren.com or www.birminghambombshells.com
